The government introduced a workplace smoking ban in the summer of 2007. A clean, healthy working environment is of benefit to employers and employees. A smokeless site can reduce ‘hidden’ costs such as cleaning, decorating and time lost in smoke-breaks.
The Hull and East Riding Stop Smoking Service can offer a number of free services to help employers and staff. These include:
- Advice on the legal and practical aspects of implementing a workplace policy.
- On-site stop smoking programmes for staff, arranged at convenient times and run by an experienced Stop Smoking Specialist.
- Training for staff involved in the health and welfare of employees, who want to know more about stopping smoking.
